This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 I haven’t read any of his other books。 However I was on a trip with lots to f rainy days so I added this to my stash。 First of all the title is NOT accurate。 My main complaint is that the main character is portrayed as a whiney bitch in most of her interactions with other characters。 I didn’t think this was a believable plot either。 Despite my overall dissatisfaction with this book I did finish it。 Not sure if I’ll read any other books by this author。

I enjoyed the plot， the writing， the fast pace。 It was very interesting。 Low stars was because I did not like the heroine。 For a midwife， she seemed to be angry all the time。 She never really acted happy until the very end when she was holding hands with a man。 Otherwise， she was constantly shrieking at someone。 That got annoying and made her not as likeable。

This was one of the first JP books that I didn’t enjoy as much。 I feel like the storyline was a good one overall， but the build up of characters and linkages were clunky。 The underlying base of midwives support was okay - having been through birth a few times in recent years， I wasn’t that impressed with their role or descriptions。
